Well done to Maureen on coming second in the C division at a recent, well attended, event in Swindon.

Congratulations also to Hepzi who finished 6th in the same division and won a ratings prize.

Not much difference between second and sixth, just one big win as both Maureen and Hepzi finished on 6 wins (out of 7), but Maureen had a spread of +285, Hepzi +81.

Over the weekend of 22/23rd July several East Berks Scrabble Club members made the long trip to Hertfordshire/Essex to play in 2 tournaments over the weekend.

Saturday's tournament, a multi-division tournament saw Wanda play in a very tough A division, including several World Championship players. Wanda's vocabulary was a definite match for them in some games, but overall lady luck deserted her and she finished on 2 wins.

Our other players were battling it out in Division C, and here Richard Spencer finished third and winning a ratings prize in the process. Well done Richard.

Sunday was a single division tournament comprising an amalgam of all the divisions from the previous day. This meant many of our players were at the 'wrong end of the division', the sole prize winner from East Berks Scrabble Club on Day 2 was Tricia Walker who won the prize for causing the biggest upset (beating a lady rated 56 points above her). Well done Tricia!
